About D-Zyne

D-Zyne Solutions (pronounced ‘design”) is a Web Development company based in Melbourne, Australia.

We have been developing standards compliant websites since 2005, and in 2007 decided to focus exclusively on developing sites based on the WordPress platform. Why use WordPress exclusively? Well:

  • Of all the content management systems (CMS) we have looked at, WordPress has the best (and simplest) admin interface – which means a shorter learning curve for clients to be able to manage their own site.
  • WordPress is very versatile. It can be used to create a simple blog (which is what WordPress was originally designed for), a full business website, an e-commerce site (selling products online), or even a membership site.
  • WordPress is the most popular CMS & blogging platform, with regular upgrades to improve the user experience and enhance functionality.
  • Sites built on the WordPress platform are easier to rebrand. Let’s face it, every site needs a facelift at least every few years to keep it looking snappy. With WordPress, we can simply customise another theme and apply it to the site – no need to go and update every page of content like traditional sites.
  • Focussing on one platform allows us to increase our expertise, which results in better sites for our clients – delivered faster.

At D-Zyne Solutions we also believe in empowering business owners (and individuals) to manage their own sites. Not only do we offer a number of training and support packages, but we also regularly post articles on this site passing on tips and tricks we have learnt along the way.

The D-Zyne Solutions Team

The “we” behind D-Zyne Solutions are Warren & Helena Denley (plus our little boy Daniel - not quite ready for website coding yet, but it won’t be long).

Warren Denley

Warren cut his teeth programming in the early 1980′s (the days of the Vic 20, Commodore 64 and TRS-80 for those that remember that far back), and has been upgrading to new technologies ever since. These days, Warren focusses on PHP, HTML and CSS development (the technologies underpinning the WordPress platform).

Warren has also spent the last 10 years working as an IT Consultant to some of the biggest companies in Australia, across a wide range of industries. From this experience, Warren has developed a talent for understanding business drivers and providing appropriate technical solutions.

Warren handles most of the requirements definition, theme customisations, custom coding and integration of 3rd party tools.

Helena Denley

Helena approached web development from a more practical background – having clocked up literally thousands of hours searching the internet for information she has seen just about every mistake that can be made in developing a site. From this was born the desire to learn how to develop websites the right way, and the rest is history.

Helena has an attention to detail that borders on obsessive and an innate understanding of how users interact with a site. Helena is also a Master NLP Practitioner, so has a deep understanding of the hidden messages a site sends via the colours, images and layout it uses. When it comes to getting your site “just right”, there is no-one better you could have on the case.

Helena handles most of the usability issues (including styling, layout and navigation), proofing, integration/leverage of social media, and search engine optimisation. Helena has also been bitten by the coding bug and can often be found customising theme template files.
